It&#8217;s a town characterized by small businesses and industries. In fact, the well-known industries Arla and \u00c5bro are located in Vimmerby. Some of Sweden&#8217;s most famous characters also call Vimmerby home, specifically at children&#8217;s favorite spot: Astrid Lindgren&#8217;s World.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-vimeo wp-block-embed-vimeo wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Vimmerby\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/909079958?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The Vimmerby wastewater treatment plant was previously designed for 92,000 PE and has now been expanded to about 150,000 PE, to cope with the increased loads brought by the industries. Therefore, the treatment plant has been expanded with an industrial part and a municipal part.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When the industrial water has gone through a pretreatment stage in the industrial part, it is pumped to the municipal part. This solution was developed to ensure the purity of the industrial water before it reaches the municipal part. In the pretreatment, an oxygen-free technique is used, where the breakdown of pollutants occurs with the formation of biogas. In the municipal part, coarse separation, sedimentation, biological degradation, chemical precipitation, and final filtration take place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:96px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" id=\"mariastugan\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-bla-color has-text-color has-link-color has-x-large-font-size wp-elements-18d62bdcf8ff5e2a7e0369253fca7eb1\">Mariastugan<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sweden&#8217;s first LFM30 pilot project for climate-neutral construction<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In H\u00f6llviken in southwestern Sk\u00e5ne, the construction and architecture company Siegel has created something truly unique. Mariastugan is a residential building that impresses in many ways. The project consists of 40 rental apartments distributed among one-, two-, three-, and four-room apartments in two separate building bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" src=\"https:\/\/hallbarhetsrapport.malmberg.se\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/mariastugan-projekt-i-fokus-1024x681.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1003\" srcset=\"https:\/\/hallbarhetsrapport.malmberg.se\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/mariastugan-projekt-i-fokus-1024x681.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/hallbarhetsrapport.malmberg.se\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/mariastugan-projekt-i-fokus-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/hallbarhetsrapport.malmberg.se\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/mariastugan-projekt-i-fokus-768x511.jpg 768w, https:\/\/hallbarhetsrapport.malmberg.se\/2023\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2024\/03\/mariastugan-projekt-i-fokus.jpg 1204w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The houses in H\u00f6llviken have achieved excellent energy performance comparable to Milj\u00f6byggnad Gold standard. They have integrated renewable energy in the form of solar hybrid panels, solar panels, and ground source heat pumps. Additionally, each apartment has rooftop terraces and balconies for cultivation, as well as access to shared facilities such as a greenhouse, pool, guest apartments, workshop, sauna, and gym. The goal has been to offer apartment owners the freedom and comfort normally found only in individual houses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malmberg was early involved in the project and carried out energy drilling of six wells to 260 meters for energy extraction.
