What is your role at Malmberg?
I work as sales support at Malmberg Energy. I assist the sales team with marketing materials and help with organization. It’s a very varied job, new things happen every day! So, it’s very exciting to keep up and be part of an innovative and rapidly developing industry.
What are the best aspects of working at Malmberg?
The best thing about working at Malmberg is that all colleagues are very helpful and supportive, which was very helpful when I started. I felt very welcomed and appreciated. Thanks to this, I have had the opportunity to develop in an area that has been completely new to me.
There are all opportunities to develop within your field, but also to broaden your skills in other areas.
It feels good that new ideas and opinions are appreciated and encouraged; you really get to contribute.
A plus is that it’s a very flexible workplace, if you need to work from home sometimes, it’s no problem.
What does it mean to you to work in a future industry? How does it feel?
Considering how the world looks right now, it feels very good to work in a workplace where we care a lot about the climate and work to develop solutions that actually contribute to a more sustainable world.
What is your view of the future in the industry? How do you think the industry will develop?
I think that at Malmberg, we will keep up with the industry’s rapid changes, as we usually do. We will continue to develop our technology according to the market’s and climate’s demand for circular and sustainable solutions. After all, that’s the future.
What does sustainability mean to you?
Everything you do affects something else. I think it’s important to see the big picture when it comes to sustainability. I think Malmberg does this well in our projects, where we always think one step ahead and create circular solutions for the next generation!
Ester’s four sustainability tips!
- If you have the opportunity – skip the car to work now and then! Carpool, cycle, or use public transport!
- Switch out the steak – occasionally! Dare to try vegetarian. It’s better than you think 😉!
- Don’t print more paper in the office than you need!
- Shop second-hand sometimes instead of buying new!

What are the best aspects of working at Malmberg?
The best part is that Malmberg can and wants to move forward. It is a strength that we have close decision-making and it is a strength with the cohesion among all colleagues in the organization. There is always someone to ask if you need help.
What does it mean to you to work in a future industry?
It’s exciting. It’s a security, you can be calm knowing that there is much to do in the foreseeable future.
What is your view of the future in the industry? How do you think the industry will develop?
I think the industry will continue to grow significantly. I think there will be progress in technology. There will be a need for more skills and people in the industry. There will be a need for major investments in our infrastructure. And it’s fun to be involved in building it! The water and sewage industry is the right place to be in the future, and it’s great fun to work with one of the leaders in the industry.
What do you think the next step in Malmberg’s sustainability work will be?
I think it is to introduce new technologies in the industry to our customers. It is something we are working on continuously to some extent.

- Did you know that a new treatment plant is being built to last at least 50 years?
- Did you know that wastewater can be treated so that it can be reused as technical water? Then you can fill people’s pools, water green areas, etc. with recycled water – cool, right!

Accounting responsible
What is your role at Malmberg?
I am responsible for accounting. That means I am responsible for ensuring that the accounting is completed and functional. The CFO should be able to trust that the accounting is in place.
What are the best aspects of working at Malmberg?
I think colleagues are high on the list. We have a good team that is high and low, we are without prestige. Everyone helps where they can and supports each other. And we have a lot of fun together. We all work towards a common goal.
I think it’s an industry that is ahead of its time, which is very positive. It’s something you actually believe in and stand for in some way. It has been incredibly educational and exciting to work on large projects. It is both educational and challenging.
It’s very complicated and complex, but incredibly positive that it has a purpose you believe in.
What does it mean to you to work in a future industry?
It means a lot! Especially considering the current situation, however you look at it, it’s a bit uncertain everywhere. No matter how much it blows outside, Malmberg feels more and more stable. It’s a product that will always be needed. Then there will be competitors, but the need remains, and that means a lot. Instead, it will only develop. It’s a security. No matter how much the world shakes, we always need to think about the environment. It’s a bit of a pride that we’re doing something that is needed.
What is your view of the future at Malmberg?
I believe in it. This is in the future; it won’t get less. As long as we are ahead in the industry, we have fantastic opportunities. So I don’t see any “threat” for Malmberg, which is an enormous security.
What is sustainability to you?
That you have a belief in the future. We have a future and a world that we should pass on to the next generation, which we must manage by learning to live sustainably and circularly. For us to be able to live sustainably in the future, we must start taking care of it now.

Contracting engineer
What is your role at Malmberg?
Currently, I work as a contracting engineer/assistant project manager at Malmberg. In my role, my main task is to ensure that the site manager always has access to tasks for the employees working on the assembly. To do this, I must create and maintain a detailed schedule, as well as communicate regularly with the site manager to ensure that the right materials are available and that progress is maintained. In summary, I try to ensure that the site manager’s day goes as smoothly as possible.
What are the best aspects of working at Malmberg?
I really enjoy my work because I have the opportunity to collaborate daily with the site manager, project managers, and other actors in the project, which allows me to develop further. I believe that my physical presence on-site facilitates my development and provides me with invaluable experience. My philosophy is that you cannot take shortcuts, and experience cannot be bought.

For me, it is very significant to work in a future industry because it gives me the opportunity to be involved in the development of society as a whole. Furthermore, it provides me with continuous opportunities to learn and develop, as there are always new technologies, methods, and trends to stay updated on. Working in a future industry also gives me a sense of being part of something bigger than just my own work, as there is a clear connection between our work at Malmberg and societal development.
What is your view of the future in the industry? How do you think the industry will develop?
Regarding my view of the industry’s future, I believe that we will continue to see strong growth and development. Technology plays an increasingly important role in our society, and the needs within the industry will increase, leading to significant investments in the coming years. Digitalization, AI, and data analysis are some of the areas where I believe the industry will continue to expand and develop.
